Principles of Investigation and Management of Evidence for supervisors (PRIME+) Workshop

Refresher Program for PRIME

Workforce Hire and its PRIME initiative deliver programs which integrate legislation, policy and procedures affecting your working environment with required investigative skills.  The PRIME training team have a collective 100+ years in Australian policing, including 40+ years criminal investigation experiences at operative, supervisor and senior management levels.  All are nationally qualified in investigation, training, assessment and have 60+ years collective local, national and international workshop facilitation experiences to diverse client groups.

Through our complimentary consultancy, we engaged with you to understand and help determine your training needs.  This leads to a customised practical workshop training experience focusing, in particular, upon critical skills and knowledge around statement taking, interviewing suspects and giving evidence through a mock court process.

PRIME (for Operatives – two days)

The PRinciples of Investigation and the Management of Evidence workshop, typically delivered over two days, has been designed and developed to provide, refresh and or upskill authorised officers to effectively, efficiently and ethically undertake compliance/investigation processes.

While the program is generic in primary content, all practical workshops can be customised to meet specific workplace needs.  The investment of $850 per participant includes: two day workshop attendance with all supporting documentation and 12 months ongoing support.

PRIME+ (for Supervisors – one day in addition to PRIME)

The PRIME workshop provides a basis for managers and supervisors oversee the investigation activities of their staff.  PRIME+ value-adds to this by including investigation management fundamentals of planning, investigation feedback and file vetting.  Effective constructive feedback is critical to investigation success and ultimately enhances the organisations reputation.  The investment of $400 per participant includes: one day workshop attendance with all supporting documentation and 12 months ongoing support.

Refresher Program (each 12 months or as requested – equivalent to one day)

An electronic program is available to meet post workshop refresher needs.  This initiative draws the investigators attention to key PRIME program elements, in the form of written submissions, vetting processes and the successful completion of knowledge based reviews.  The investment of $200 per participant includes: a series of emailed learning modules linked to reviews of knowledge and informal assessment for feedback purposes.

Workforce Hire delivered day one of its two day Principles of Investigation and Management of Evidence (PRIME) workshop to local government representatives this week.  Information delivered was centred on the process of planning an investigation and gathering information in the form of statements. Theory sessions were followed by a step by step demonstration on the recording of a statement from a witness. Two team trainers can be seen demonstrating the process in the accompanying photograph.

The second day of the PRIME workshop will take place in a few weeks’ time, giving participants the opportunity to put into practice their statement taking skills. Day two tackles the matter of how to conduct an interview that is hand written, and the requirements for having that interview accepted by a court or tribunal. Participants were able to engage with the training team in robust discussion about all topics presented. Further workshops have already been scheduled for later in the year.
